Fruit on the Vine, are you connected?

📷

My Husband and I have recently bought a home that was totally out of our comfort zone.

In the past we have always bought  a new or newer home since I have many allergies to mold, dust ,weeds  and I also like the idea that no one else had a chance to mess it up or that there are no hidden problems lurking behind the walls or floors.

Since being in Florida we have always had the home owners association work on our lawns.

Well, lately we have been doing so much work on this cute slightly neglected home to make it more us.

Everyday is another opportunity to give up, scream or just shake our head and say ” Why in the world would they have done that to this in that way”…the struggle is real, costly and exhausting.  But hopefully  in the end  we will have what we in-vision if we continue and not thrown in the towel or the hammer against the wall…lol.

Recently while working on our over an acre lot my husband has been pulling weeds,  tree trimming, stump removing and cutting down crazy strong vines that are attached to trees and have taken over our fence.

In the process these city people gone country ( a real green acres story) had no idea that theses strong vines were actually poison oak that got all over my hubby and he got the most severe  reaction that ended up in a doctors office with lots of meds and feeling miserable for almost over a month now.

These vines were the devil in a cute leaf fashion, but who knew,  obviously  not  us.

He worked so hard to cut through those suckers, burn them  ( which we found out later is the worst thing you can do :-() ) bag them and no matter what they still come back. These branches are so connected to vine and root system that these things are the strongest most toxic deadly thing I have ever encountered.

Once the  oils penetrate your skin there is no kind of washing that will  prevent an outbreak of poison oak, you are infected and overcome by pain and very uncomfortable.

These oils that are on the plant can also get on your pets fur, (your clothes and shoes too) and they can bring them in your home and transfer it to your carpet, rugs, clothing and bed….I mean this oil is poison.

Even after you cut down the vines  the oils that are on the ground can still produce a reaction if you come in contact with it , it continues to hold its toxic potency. It’s just  crazy!!!

This got me thinking about the Children of God and our relationship to the Vine – Jesus.

John 15:5-8 (MSG)

“I am the Vine, you are the branches. When you’re joined with me and I with you, the relation intimate and organic, the harvest is SURE to be ABUNDANT. Separated, you can’t produce a thing. Anyone who separates from me is deadwood, gathered up and thrown on the bonfire. But if you make yourselves at home with me and my words are at home in you, you can be sure that whatever you ask will be listened to and acted upon. This is how my Father shows who he is—when you produce grapes, when you mature as my disciples.

I love this…That our harvest is SURE and abundant! Are you connected to the vine or are you a lone ranger? Make yourself at Home with God and make His words at home with you. Aren’t you tired of being old dead wood never producing?  Don’t you want to have that oil running down you that continues to produce what you need, no matter what fire your in? Get connected today, give a little bit of your time to God in prayer and worship and watch what He will accomplish. But …YOU must be the one to get connected to that vine! Go ahead get plugged in to the source of all you have need of and be the fruitful vine.

So Even when you feel cut off or in a dry and weary place, you are never without that oil of anointing on your life that will spread all over you and others surely producing abundant life , if you continue to remain in fellowship with the vine.

Stay connected to the vine and get rooted deep into His word for your life and you will be able to overcome any cutting process that happens to you today.

How do you stay connected to the vine in your busy life, I would love to know?
